Modify high school certificate in Türkiye

Enrollment in Turkish universities requires the submission of some documents, including the high school equivalency document, known in Turkish as (Denklik). This document is necessary to prove that the high school diploma obtained by the student in his country is equivalent to Turkish certificates, and this certificate can be obtained in two ways:

First: Through the Turkish consulate or embassy in the country where you reside.

Second: Through the Directorate of Education in Istanbul or other Turkish cities.

What documents are required to equate high school diplomas for foreigners in Türkiye?

Fill out an electronic form via the Turkish Directorate of Education website via the link: Click on the link to enter.

After filling out the electronic form, the following papers are prepared and submitted to the Turkish Directorate of Education. The papers are:

Original high school certificate certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country in which you obtained the certificate.

2. A certificate showing grades for the last three academic years, certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

If the student has completed his studies in international schools such as the IG system, he must have his documents authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the country where he completed his studies, and then authenticated by the embassy of that country in Turkey.

4. A valid passport photo.

Student visa and a copy of it. This visa can be replaced with a residence card if available.

Acceptance letter from the Turkish university you have chosen to study in, obtained from the university’s website.

Proof of university enrollment, “must be recent.”

If the student is under 18 years of age, he must submit a guardianship contract and a power of attorney from the guardian.

Documents required for the equivalence of the high school certificate for Syrians in Türkiye:

1- Temporary protection card (Kimlik).

2- The original secondary school certificate, if available.

3- Certified main transcript.

4- Translation and notarization of the certificate.

5- An envelope to certify the secondary school certificate from the Syrian National Coalition office in Türkiye.

6- (Passport if available).

7- Residential address (population registry).
